Wedding Table Numbers | DIY

For my “After the Wedding” reception this fall, I’ve been leaning towards a rustic, industrial theme. I had ideas in my head but hadn’t purchased anything until I went shopping with my mom. We stopped at HomeGoods to waste some time and I ended up finding these gorgeous wood and metal three-tiered cake stands. Then I found a mixed wood and marble cake pedestal. It was love.

Then everything else started piecing together. I knew what I wanted to do for a guestbook, name cards and finally these table numbers. The metals in this DIY are different than the metal on the cake stand, but they will be in different areas of the venue.

Instructions:

  1. Saw the 8ft. wood board into 6 inch increments. This will give you 16 blocks. Adjust from there if you need more table numbers. My husband used a hand-saw, but this will go by much faster if you have a circular saw.
  2. Arrange your staining space with a tarp to keep the floor clean. Wear the gloves while you are staining to keep your skin from getting full of stain. Dip the cloth into the well-mixed stain, then coat the wood. I only did one layer of stain on these blocks and the color turned out great. I let mine dry overnight.
  3. Pick out where the numbers look best. Use the power drill to attached the numbers to the wood block. Easy. Peasy.
